"I am very happy with my Orion Hypers and have found them to be an excellent ski on and off piste. On piste they are light and easy to make smooth even turns, with lots of edge for great control even over ice. Off piste they handled deep soft snow reasonably well the slim waist of the ski made life entertaining at times in the very deep powder. To conclude the hypers are a good all round ski at a very reasonable price.

Jen Bibb, Part-time dry slope ski instructor.

What an amazing ski for an amazing price, agile, sharp and very responsive. These skis dropped my times by half a second in my first race on them, times are getting better every race. A great Slalom profile gets you down the course fast! I am thinking of upgrading to the Space Carbon for a slightly stiffer ski in the longer turns. These skis are light and strong, (perfect for younger racers too) but you don't have to be a racer to get the benefits and control these skis give you. Smiles for miles.

"Positives - Exceptionally light ski, Good edge grip on Piste, Very easy to initiate the turn so turning in bumps is easier.
"Negatives - Flutter at high speed due to softness of the front of the ski
and harder work off piste and crud compared to other 'big mountain' skis on the market.

This is a ski which would be good for a light skier who is looking to improve their technique and is very easy to carry after a long day on the slopes!, I was impressed with the ease that the turn could be started from a number of different positions on the ski.

Barrie Petrie, Experienced 'all mountain' skier

"This ski was great on the piste holding an edge with ease, I was surprised how stable the ski is.Taking the ski off piste it handled well on everything but the steep hard packed slopes.
In soft chopped snow it cruises and floats over the surface and a little pressure on the inside edge starts the turn effortlessly.
The ski is not very good in the bumps as edge to edge it is fairly slow.
I was that confident in the ski I took it down the 8000ft descent of the Pas du Chevre in Argentiere.

I skied this in varied conditions in the Chamonix valley in March, and found it to be a superbly predictable ‘all-round’ ski.    Stable at speed and really great edge grip, this for me is the nicest ski Orion have produced to date.   Fantastic value!

"These skis loves short slalom style turns, very quick edge to edge, excellent grip, and very responsive. Also performs well with bigger size turns, put them on edge and they will hold a smooth, stable arc all the way through the turn.
Good in bumps, light, fun, and lively, and will even handle the odd bit of powder and crud.(Did get a bit heavy after a while in powder, probably due to the narrow width under foot. Or the fact that im unfit and struggle a bit in the fluffy stuff).
Overall, not too demanding, but they do respond well when pushed.
I could happily ski these all day long and take them anywhere on the mountain. I love this ski"

Gary Thorn, Instructor at the local dry slope (also teach in these skis) and over enthusiastic all round skier.
- March 2006.

"This ski really carves out the turns on the piste and holds a very good edge in the carve.

The ski has a soft shovel and this makes turn initiation very easy, they just want to turn.
I tried them in the moguls and crud and they performed very well especially in cutting through the crud.
I tried these ski's for a day and ended up skiing on them for a couple of weeks before I had to give them back. My only criticism was the base was slow"

Superb edge hold and stable at moderate to fast speeds on piste, in fact one of the nicest piste skis I have had the pleasure to ski on. Perhaps a little narrow for the 'full time' off piste skier, but an excellent all round piste ski, and teaching tool!"
